Did You Know??

In the Friendship Evangelism Course Materials, there is a chapter on conversational witnessing. There you will find one way to present the Gospel message called Witnessing With A Marked New Testament. It is an easy way of presenting salvation Scriptures in a logical manner. Write the page number of the first Scripture you wish to use on the first page of the New Testament. After turning to the Scripture and high lighting it, write the page number of the next Scripture on the bottom of the page. Do this with each succeeding reference that you use. It is helpful if you underline the Scriptures in the same color of ink. You may use this method to present the Scriptures below or any other selection of Scriptures (see Reach3 also):

  • Romans 3:23 The problem of sin results in our need of Jesus Christ
  • Romans 6:23 The consequences of sin is spiritual death, separation from God in this life and in the next. The remedy; God loves us, has a wonderful plan for our lives, and wants to give us eternal life. We receive it through Christ who died for our sins, arose from the dead, and can forgive and change our lives.
  • John 1:12 We must then receive Jesus Christ by asking Him to enter and control our lives.
  • 1 John 1:9 We must confess our sins to experience God's forgiveness.
  • Rev. 3:20 Jesus wants to enter your life. All you have to do is submit your will, open the "door" of your heart and let Him come in. Is there any reason you can't do this right now?

Note: Other sets of scriptures that you might want to use are:

Romans 3.23
Romans 5.8
Romans 5.23
Romans 10.9-10
Romans 10.1

Romans 3.23
Romans 6.23
Romans 5.12
Romans5.8
Romans10.9-10

Proverbs 14.12
I Timothy 2.3-5
John 3.16
I John 1.9
I John 5.11-12

Isaiah 59.2
Hebrews 9.14-15
John 1.12
I Peter 1.3-4
Ephesians 2.8-9

If the person wants to accept Christ as his Savior, then offer to pray a sinner's prayer with him such as:

"Lord Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner and I need your forgiveness. Come into my life; cleanse me from all sin; become Lord of my life. I promise to serve you, and will tell others of your saving love. Amen".

After praying a sinners prayer, encourage the individual to express himself in his own words to God. It is also important to show the person his assurance of salvation is based on God's Word (see 1 John 5:12,13), not his feelings!

Did you know that we are responsible and accountable? (Ezekiel 3:18-19) (II Corinthians 5.10)

Bottom Line: God really loves us. He has great plans for us and is committed to continue to help us now and in the future. God is alive and well...Big Time!!
